EFCC seals more properties belonging treasury looters

EFCC sealed off an estate owned by Ihejirika
– The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sealed more properties belonging to suspected treasury looters
– A top source at the EFCC said corrupt persons invest the proceeds of their crime in the highbrow area of the FCT

Sources have put the value of the confiscated properties, which are scattered over the FCT at billions of naira, Leadership reports. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter EFCC sealed off an estate owned by Ihejirika

Officials of the anti-graft agency have been evading inquiries over who the owners of the properties are and the worth. According to a top source at the EFCC who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a lot of properties had been sealed within Abuja metropolis. The source said: "That is where corrupt persons invest the proceeds of their crime. This is where the properties appreciate fast."
He noted that corrupt people don't buy properties in the satellite towns because the properties don't appreciate like the ones in the highbrow areas. "They prefer to buy properties within the city and that's why we don't have any sealed property in the satellite towns. "We have sealed properties all over Abuja city. A drive round will reveal this. The houses are marked in bold red unlike in the past when we used to paste sticker, which anybody can remove and people will not know that the house has been sealed. Now we write in bold red so that everyone can see it," the source added. In January, operatives of the commission sealed more houses allegedly owned by military officers being investigated in the arms deal scam. They raided the locations around Abuja, sealing buildings at different places in the city.

Young Chinese girl hugs President Buhari affectionately

President Buhari looked affectionately at the young girl who hugged him in China.
During his visit to Yang Xiong, the Mayor of Shanghai, China on Thursday, April 14, President Muhammadu Buhari was welcomed by some Chinese. Apart from the Mayor himself, there were other members of the city that came out to welcome the Nigerian leader and usher him into the city; one of them was a young girl who hugged him affectionately. But how did President Buhari react to this young girl's gesture?
President Buhari who is on a four-day state visit to China to strengthen diplomatic ties with the Asian giants, also visited some Nigerians living in the country, as he issued a serious threat to pipeline vandals, warning them that he would crush them like he did Boko Haram terrorists.

He is expected back to the country this weekend as Nigerians will be hoping that he finally puts pen to paper on the controversial 2016 budget.

LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT AND THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARM FORCES OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA GEN. MUHAMMADU BUHARI
Dear Mr President, My Name is DUNCAN MIGHTY a successful musician who has always exported the good massages, RHYTHM and vibes of Nigerian IKWERRE PORT HARCOURT content to the global world. i am also a successful entrepreneur /business man with remarkable achievements in Niger Delta. Today I am the current youth/ Brand ambassador for FORUM OF COALITION OF SOUTH-SOUTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INDUSTRY MINES AND AGRICULTURE, and also the Niger Delta Entertainment Youth President My office existence is to channel the minds of the youth in Niger Delta and South- South in Diaspora to embrace there Gods given talents for a greater Nigeria. Your Excellency Mr President, please I want u to give me the opportunity to assist your Government in carrying out youth empowerment project in Niger Delta as to enable some of our eligible youths shun social vises, cultism and face their God's given talent for a greater Nigeria of Tomorrow. Mr President you spoke so much about youth empowerment but i think one of the best ways to achieve that is through sports, and talent capacity building then we have a long way to go. These are not good times for Nigerian sports at all. With the Super Eagles failing to qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations and the lack of stability in the team – constant change of coach and captain as well as the not too impressive performance of different sporting teams representing the country at different global events in recent times, it is obvious that the year 2016 has not started well for Nigerian sports at all. The situation has been compounded by the refusal or inability of the National Sports Commission to make funds available to the country's sporting contingents to different competitions in recent times. This may well be a sign of austere times.
It is no longer news that the Federal Government has been finding it difficult to navigate through the country's economic woes which have been fueled by the free fall in the global price of oil and worsening exchange rate. What may be news is that the effect of these challenges on sports is huge. Recently, the Nigerian Table Tennis team had to sponsor itself to a major tournament in Malaysia because the Nigerian Tables Tennis Federation and the NSC said there was no money to sponsor the team. While Segun Toriola, Haruna Quadri and others paid from their pockets, Funke Oshonaike angrily withdrew from the tournament. There is no better evidence to prove that the country has been on auto pilot for some months now. This sort of challenge reminds one of our recent past where sports was given maximum attention by a serious government which was committed to youth empowerment and national integration. The London Olympics of 2012 was this disgraceful outing for Team Nigeria. After a few days of the event, the then Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi had to fly to to London where he gave touching speech at the camp of the athletes. The athletes were inspired by his moving speech and they promised to up their game. Unfortunately, the entire Team Nigeria still came home without a single medal. That was a major scandal the country could not stomach at all. Angered by this outcome, the Federal Government summoned a major conference of all sports stakeholders from across the country and beyond. Government wanted to hear from everyone who mattered. Hundreds of stakeholders gathered at the State House Banquet Hall (now Conference Centre) to dialogue with the President. Unlike other leaders who will just attend the opening ceremony of such event, make a fantastic speech and leave, The Federal Government dedicated a whole day to the summit and dialogued with the stakeholders for over 7 hours. asked questions, sought clarifications and demonstrated to everyone present on that day the willingness and political will to implement all the decisions and recommendations put forward.
The Federal government was told to take all sporting issues personal and grant administrators and coaches direct access to the Presidency. The Federal Government was told to release funds to beef up infrastructure for training and ensure early preparation for all sporting tournaments as well as provision of world class training camps and facilities. Most importantly, the Government was told to re-introduce the reward system and ensure athletes are rewarded, celebrated and recognized for any achievements recorded in sports in order to encourage others and give them the motivation that Nigeria is worth dying for. The discussants agreed that the Presidential handshake policy introduced by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2000 with the Super Falcons team which impressed at the World Cup in that year, had gone a long way to dampen the morale of athletes across all sports in the country. The Federal Government implemented all these recommendations religiously and within months, our athletes started bringing home trophies and medals from across Africa and beyond. Blessing Okagbare was among the athletes that made the country proud. She won silver and bronze medals World Athletic Championships in Moscow. She won silver medal in the long jump and came third in the women's 200 metres race. The Federal Government rewarded Blessing Okagbare and her coach with cash gifts and national honor. The Government also held a special dinner for both Falconets and U-17 male football sides which both conquered the continent in their respective categories. That same U-17 side also conquered the world in far away Dubai. Nigeria won the African Cup of Nations for the first time in 19 years in South Africa in February, 2013. Nigeria ended up with 11 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, finishing 8th in the overall ranking. Federal government did not fail to extend the same gesture to all the individuals and teams who made the country proud in different sporting competitions. Former England international, Ambassador John Fashanu did not mince words when he granted an interview to newsmen and praised extraordinary feat in sports.
It is on record that the Super Eagles won Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa under this administration. The Super Eagles equaled the best record Nigeria ever had at the World Cup in Brazil. The Nations U-17 team won FIFA U-17 World Cup in UAE. The female U-20 team won silver in their own World Cup. Nigeria had the best performance at the Commonwealth Games and the World Athletics Championship. I cannot mention the whole achievements because they are many. All these happened because the Federal Government created an enabling atmosphere for sports men and women to strive because of the way he normally appreciates them when they return, I want to use these references to ask your office to empower me to carry out youth Empowerment projects in Sports ,Music Comedy, Dance, Movies, photography And Fashion with this we have a proudly Nigerian youth of tomorrow. Thank you Mr President. Yours faithfully,

DUNCAN MIGHTY SOUTH-SOUTH YOUTH /BRAND AMBASSADOR AND NIGER DELTA ENTERTAINMENT YOUTH PRESIDENT

How comedian AY lashed out fake friends

Comedian AY
Following the footsteps of ace Nigerian comedian Ali Baba, talented comedian cum Nollywood actor and movie producer, AY lashes out at people who pretend to be your true friends by calling them 'counterfeit friends'. The comedian on Wednesday, April 13, posted a playful picture of him with the caption: "Be careful of superficial friends who usually would come to you to gossip another friend. Here's where I lose trust with people. If a friend comes up to me and says, oh, my God, did you hear about Genevieve and Tunde? They're getting a divorce, and it is ugly. I'm pretty sure Tunde is cheating. You have just shared something with me that was not yours to share. And my trust for you is completely gone.
A lot of times, we share things that are not ours to share as a way to build a connection with a new friend who is no longer close to the other friend that he or she was once close to. Some closeness are built on talking bad about other people. This is common! You know what I call it? 'Common enemy intimacy', in this type of friendship, trust and truth are alien. The intimacy is only built on hating the same person you both have considered an enemy. Beware of counterfeit friendship!" See post below:

New photos/video of abducted Chibok girls surfaces

CNN has obtained a video purportedly showing 15 missing Chibok girls after 2 years in Boko Haram captivity. Tagged proof of life recording, the 2 minutes video believed to have been shot in December last year, was obtained from one of the people negotiating for the release of the girls.

The video shows some of the girls mentioning their names while a portion of the video shows some of their mothers identifying the girls. ‎

Rifkatu Ayuba who is one of the mothers of the girls saw her 17 year old daughter Saratu for the first time after the video was shown to her

"My Saratu!" she wailed, reaching out to a laptop screen, the closest she's been to her child in two years. "I felt like removing her from the screen. If I could, I would have removed her from the screen."she said.

A source close to negotiations between Boko Haram and the Nigerian govt said the video was provided by the terror group as an act of good faith.

It will be exactly 2 years tomorrow since the girls were abducted from their school, Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state.

Oba Akiolu says every Nigerian caused Nigeria's problem

oba akiolu goodluck jonathan
– Oba Akiolu says Nigerians must share the national blame

 – The Lagos monarch says Nigeria should be patient with President Buhari He also asked Nigerians to bear with the minister of state for petroleum resources

The monarch said this when he received the Lagos State Working Committee of the Nigerian Union of Journalist led by its chairman, Mr. Deji Elumoye, in his palace in Lagos Island.
The monarch said everybody should take the blame of the tough situation the country was going through. The present government has been blaming Jonathan for the nation's woes and for allowing corruption to fester. According to him, the past actions of every citizens of the country contributed to the present state of Nigeria's economy. "Everyone is accusing Jonathan for the economic woes but we need to understand that our actions in the past contributed to the current challenges we are encountering at the moment. The economy will improve geometrically in 2017," he said. Akiolu said he was sure that the nation's economy would boom by the second term of President Muhammadu Buhari in office, adding that "Buhari has good intention for this country. And he is working towards achieving a country that will benefit all."

He defended the numerous trips made so far by Buhari, saying that they are meant to boost the image of the nation internationally and shore up investment. "I know that we will get to the promise land very soon. All everyone need to do is pray for the country, contribute our quota to the country's development and be patience with the present administration," he said. Akiolu further begged Nigerians to be patient with the minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr. Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, over the lingering fuel crisis in the nation. The Lagos monarch stirred controversy during the 2015 general elections when he threatened Igbo people that they must vote for Akinwunmi Ambode in the gubernatorial election or be thrown into the lagoon. His statement sparked negative reaction from Nigerians.

Nigerian army kills five Chibok girls accidentally – survivor

chibok-parentsThe recent video has brought hope to the parents of the Chibok girls, some of whom recognized their children – One of the Boko Haram survivors claimed that the Nigerian army killed five Chibok girls during the clearance operation

The deadly Boko Haram sect has taken thousands of women and girls to rape, force them into marriage, convert into Islam with little attention paid to them. However, a mass kidnapping of the more than 200 Chibok schoolgirls attracted a lot of attention from the globe community. Apart from the recent video that appeared on April 13 a shocking lack of concrete information exists about what has occurred to the Chibok girls since they were taken, though rumors prosper. Vice News spoke with a woman in her 30s, who escaped the insurgents six weeks ago.
Hawwa, claimed that she had met the Chibok girls in Gwoza, the former center of Boko Haram's self-declared caliphate. She was kidnapped from Madagali, a town in Adamawa state, and held by the terrorists for a year. The woman stated that she was forced to work as a cook for the Boko Haram sect, and was kept in a complex with a lot of other women and children, where conditions were poor. According to her, the Chibok girls were kept alone and treated much better than the other women, "like VIPs." The girls were attended the Islamic education classes together, where they quoted passages of the Quran. From the classes Hawwa learned about who they were and how they were kidnapped. Hawwa said some of the abducted girls had been "initiated" into Boko Haram, by converting to Islam and marrying terrorists, with many now having children. Meanwhile, others remained "stubborn." She added: "There were some that did not convert to Islam, now they are living for when they will die because they are not practicing any religion there." The escaped woman also claimed that while Gwoza was under Boko Haram's control, five of the Chibok girls were killed by the Nigerian army jets that flew overhead and opened fire on a crowd of women as they sat together in a camp. "The military… didn't know they were the Chibok girls," she said. "They would have seen a group of women in a compound and just fired… When it started we ran."

Hawwa said she thought the army "would have thought they were the family of the insurgents." Since President Muhammadu Buhari came to power the army launched a strong offensive against the deadly sect, including an aggressive aerial campaign. NAIJ.com has obtained the video of the bombardment of the Sambisa forest, where the group is thought to be hiding out. However, we are not able to verify Hawwa's story with any other source. This week, Bring Back Our Girls activists who have worked tirelessly over the past two years to keep the Chibok abduction in the public eye are holding another series of events. While the Nigerian army has now regained much of the territory that was held by Boko Haram in its northeastern heartland, kidnappings continue. Just last month, 14 women were taken as they went to collect water, according to people occupying displacement camps in northern Nigeria.
